HUGE NEWS: The Community Garage has teamed up with the Trade Collective in Evanston, IL to support their mission of promoting the trades as a career option. This is a great fit for The Community Garage, as our mission is to use all facets of motorsports to mentor youth.
The Trade Collective has generously provided a portion of their facility for our use. This will allow us to expand the frequency of our after-school offerings and broaden the scope of opportunities we provide to kids.
We are very excited – but we have no tools!
The workspace is currently empty, and we need to supply it with basic garage gear. Now the call goes out: We are asking for donations of any automotive tools (new or quality used) to help us work.
So, if you have any extra tools lying around (or need an excuse to buy more tools), we have special needs for:
· Socket sets (all drive sizes)
· Ratchets (all drive sizes)
· Wrenches (SAE and metric)
· Specialty wrenches: offset, flare nut, stubby, etc.
· Screw drivers, nut drivers, allen keys
· Pliers, end cutters, adjustable wrenches, vise grips, etc.
· Battery powered tools: impact wrenches (all drive sizes), flashlights, grinders, etc.
· Air tools
· Diagnostic and precision measuring tools
· Jack & jack stands
· Tool carts
· Tool cabinets
· Safety equipment: glasses, work gloves, etc.
· Consumables: latex gloves, shop towels, fluids, cleaning supplies, etc.
Pretty much anything that you might find in a shop will get used and is much appreciated.
Delivery can be shipped to us, or we can pick up at any NASA Great Lakes event. If an onsite pick-up is required, please contact us to make arrangements.
