The Rolex 24HRS of Daytona!

The road trip to Daytona was a blast! The Community Garage took a group of kids to experience the spectacle of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona…nothing beats being there to see the race in person!

The 24 Hours of Daytona is one of the most iconic races in North America. Several classes race across four days of fury. The kids got to see GT4, GT3, Prototype, and Hypercar racing, each bringing different levels of performance and excitement.

When the race goes around the clock twice, you know you’re settling in for the long haul. We camped on site with fellow NASA Great Lakes friends and walked all over the track grounds. Something magical happens at the Rolex when the sun sets.

The number of “first-times” was impressive:

• First time at the Rolex

• First time at Daytona International Raceway

• First time signing a start-finish line

• First time meeting a professional racecar driver

• First time on a 20+ hour road trip

• First time camping!

• First time fixing a flat on the side of the road!

After our trip, one thing is certain: we’re doing this again!! Next year will be even bigger and better. As always, we hope you can join us.
